Should You Take the Leap?

If I could encourage you today, I would stand on the sideline of your life and cheer and clap and say “Make the leap! Do it! Take one big giant faith-filled run for it and do the thing you know God is calling you to!” I don’t even need to know what that leap is towards because I know this: If God is calling you to something, lunging toward it is your best move!

I think of the countless people of faith who’ve gone before us, the ones who God called to do something big, something bold, something world-changing. They all had to take a leap and some even had to take several.

I think of Peter, who took one big giant step out of a boat while everyone else stayed in. His leap of faith found him being the only one who experienced actually walking on water! I think of Zacchaeus and his climb to see more of Jesus. He didn’t settle for his own limitations. He put on some climbing shoes to get a better view. That bold move landed Him at a life-changing lunch with Christ. I think of Moses, who was steeped in self-doubt and yet God wanted to purpose his life to set other people free. Over and over again Moses had to take giant leaps of faith. And at each one, he saw God show up in miraculous ways.

Here at Collide, we are taking a big leap! We know that God has called us to it. In fact, we have known for over 5 years that He’s calling and now He has paved the way so here we go! For over a decade we have been ministering in the upper left of the PNW but God has called us to take the gospel on the road, and our first stop is Portland! We are putting on a Collide conference and we’re inviting hundreds of women in that area to collide with Jesus and experience His hope and healing.

Are we nervous? Yes. Could we fail? Yes. But we know that when God calls each of us to big, amazing, world-changing things, it always requires a leap of faith. So while we are here cheering you on to take your own leap of faith, will you also cheer us on? Will you be praying for us?

2 Corinthians 5:7 reminds us “For we live by faith, not by sight.”

Though we cannot see the outcome, we trust in the One who calls us. When His voice beckons, we come running, leaping, lunging, and trusting that He knows exactly what He is doing with and through our lives.

Leaping with you,
