Bigger Story

Program: Bible Studies

At Collide, we believe that God uses every day women to do amazing things. He meets us exactly where we’re at – in our doubt, our monotonous routines, our pain, our apathy, and our mess – and collides with us in a way that leaves us forever changed. We’ve been amazed as He’s redeemed our brokenness and empowered women in our community and beyond to walk in confidence of their identity as beloved daughters.

We’d love to introduce you to one of those women, Michel, and share a piece of her story of colliding with Jesus.

I let go of wine dependency and grabbed onto God on March 19, 2017. In May of that year, my sister-in-law invited me to a Collide event called Nothing Wasted. Collide was unlike anything I had experienced before. As I listened to the stories of God using small offerings to do incredible things, my heart caught. I thought, ‘What could I possibly have to offer to God?’ The next year, I started attending a Collide Bible study called Yes, You. During this study that I began to process all the feelings I had about writing. At the beginning I could hardly speak the words out loud, “I think God is calling me to be a writer” and by the end I could confidently say, “I am a writer.” Collide gave me the opportunity to write a guest post for their blog and it was the first time something I wrote went out into the world and the first time I felt a part of God’s bigger story.

One of our favorite things in the world is the diversity of stories we get to hear about how God meets individual people in deeply personal ways. We’d love to hear your story of colliding with Jesus, too! Tell us all about it at
